เนื่องจาก เนคเทคได้รับข่าวด่วน เรื่องเกี่ยวกับไวรัสคอมพิวเตอร์ชื่อ SirCam จะมีผลก่อให้เกิดความเสียหายกับเครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์ในเช้าวันจันทร์ หากเผลอไป attached file เข้า ขณะนี้ เนคเทคประเมินความเสียหายว่าหากโดน 1 เครื่อง กว่าจะเคลียร์เครื่องให้สะอาดอาจต้องใช้เวลาถึง 3-4 ชั่วโมง และหากโดนไวรัสสัก แสนเครื่องคงจะสร้างความเสียหายในด้านการทำงานเป็นอย่างมาก

SirCam Virus/Worm Security Warning To all Internet users in Thailand:
Starting from July 17, 2001, the virus/worm SirCam is spreading fast and is expected to hit many more computers over the weekend. Each email user may receive more than 100 mails per day each containing a random attached file infected with the virus. Your mailboxes are expected to be filled with many copies of these messages. The virus comes with electronic mail messages with random subject line, and it typically contains the following message text: "Hi! How are you? I send you this file in order to have your advice See you later. Thanks". If you receive them, please do not open the attached file which comes with the mail. Delete them immediately. If you open the file, your machine willbe affected.
