มหาวิทยาลัยหอการค้าไทย มีความยินดีเรียนเชิญท่านสื่อมวลชนร่วมงานสัมมนาวิชาการนานาชาติ "Innovation in Development Theory and Survey Data: Implications for Policy" ซึ่งจะมีนักวิชาการชื่อดังในสาขาเศรษฐศาสตร์พัฒนา (Development Economics) จากมหาวิทยาลัยชั้นนำของโลก เช่น University of Chicago, MIT, Princeton, Yale และ Northwestern University เป็นต้น กว่า 30 คนจากทั่วโลกมารวมตัวกันที่ประเทศไทย เพื่อร่วมเสนอผลงานวิจัย โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่ง งานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการแก้ปัญหาความยากจนในประเทศไทย เช่น งานวิจัยของ Kaboski และ Townsend ที่ศึกษาผลของนโยบายกองทุนหมู่บ้านที่มีต่อความกินดีอยู่ดีของครัวเรือน เป็นต้น เพื่อให้ชุมชนวิชาการในประเทศไทยตระหนักถึงคุณค่าของ การทำวิจัยทางด้านเศรษฐศาสตร์พัฒนา ที่สามารถนำไปใช้วางนโยบายแก้ปัญหาความยากจนได้
งานสัมมนาดังกล่าวจะมีขึ้นในระหว่างวันที่ 4-6 สิงหาคม 2551 ตั้งเวลา 9.00 — 18.00 น. ณ ห้อง 10201 ชั้น 2 อาคาร 10 มหาวิทยาลัยหอการค้าไทย
