Notes:
1/ Quarterly national accounts will be disseminated by Office of the National Economic and Social
Development Board---NESDB (http://www.nesdb.go.th) and by means of a phone service (662 2165430 ext.122).
It is envisaged that a flexibility option for the timeliness will be required.
2/ Timeliness of the data will be brought into observance of the SDDS by the end of the transition
period.
3/ Thailand is making use of an "as relevant" flexibility option and will continue to disseminate
labor statistics three times a year with a timeliness of three months following the end of the reference
periods of February, May and August.
4/ Fiscal year = October 1 to September 30
5/ Overall balance includes operations of nonfinancial public enterprises.
6/ The budgetary deficit/surplus is the balance between revenue and expenditure from the current
year budget and carryover expenditure from the previous two budgets. The overall balance is a cash balance,
which is composed of the budgetary balance and the non-budgetary balance. The non-budgetary balance,
reported above the line, represents mainly changes in deposits of government agencies at the Ministry of
Finance which are of revenue-related and expenditure-related types.
7/ It is envisaged that a flexibility option for the timeliness will be required as current
regulations require financial institutions to submit reports to the Bank of Thailand with a timeliness of
no longer than one month after the end of the reference month.
8/ Claims on local governments are part of "gross claims on nonfinancial public enterprises"
and not "net claims on government".
9/ Credit to local governments is part of "gross credit to nonfinancial public enterprises"
and not "net credit to central government ".
10/ Credit to banks is included in "gross credit to private sector".
11/ Interest rates on short- and long-term government securities are not available because the
government has not issued any government securities for many years due to persistent fiscal surpluses.
12/ Daily data are disseminated daily on the Internet (http://www.set.or.th for share price index
and http://www.bot.or.th/BOTHomepage/Databank/Financial_Institutions/DailyInt/Interestt.htm for interest
rates) and by means of a phone service (662 2835622).
13/ Data will be disseminated completely by the end of the year 2003.
14/ Daily data are disseminated daily on the Internet (http://www.bot.or.th/BOTHomepage/Databank/
FinMarkets/InterestRate/T_premium.html and by phone recording (662 2800614 and 662 2800132). Forward exchange
rates are expected to be disseminated by the end of the transition period.
15/ Non-bank debt series for the year 2000 have been estimated by applying ITRS's flow data with
end-1999 survey. The figures are subject to revision upon completion of quarterly survey.
